Dear all,

While preparing the fixtures for the forthcoming league season, it has become apparent that the significant increase in the number of teams, especially in the U8/10/12 categories, combined with the reduced number of weekends available to complete the league program, is creating pressure on venues and problems with pitch availability.

In order to help to alleviate this problem, we have decided to make the U10 pitch size the same as for U8, thereby making more small pitches available for U10 matches. Consequently, we have therefore also decided to reduce the number of U10 team players on a pitch from 8 a-side to 7 a-side to suit the pitch size.

We understand that you have already registered your teams, prepared your kits, etc so we will not ask the u10 teams to reduce the number of registered players in their squads. Instead, we have decided to allow the U8 & U19 Girls teams an increase in the maximum number of registered players in their respective squads, if they wish to do so.

So the new amendment to the Rules Item 2e now reads as follows:

i. U8, U10 & U19 Girls - 7 a side – Minimum number to start a match = 5; Maximum fielded on match days (including substitutes) = 13; Maximum registered in squad = 17.

We hope this is all clear, however please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Best Regards!
